The Ghost of Redbeard has set sail towards Figures Toy Company, and should arrive in October! That's right, this edition of #MMFTCNEWS is something that fans of FTC's Scooby-Doo series will love, because another one of the cartoon's classic villains will be in stock next month!
The creepy characters that the members of Mystery, Inc. have unmasked through the years have always been some of FTC's most popular retro figures. With the arrival of Redbeard (as well as his ghostly variant figure), collectors will have another one of the villains that put Scooby and the gang in another scary situation; one that can be relived again and again with your Scooby-Doo Retro Figures!
Both September and October are expected to be big months for Figures Toy Company, because lots of new items from FTC's variety of licenses will be added to their already huge inventory! Both Redbeard figures are slated for next month, so keep an eye on http://www.figurestoycompany.com and all of their social media pages to find out when all of the new items are added. You'll also get updates on the new arrivals right here, so be sure to bookmark #MMFTCNEWS and check back every Friday!

“Look up in the sky - it’s a bird, it’s a plane” … it’s Mego’s World’s Greatest Super-Heroes Superman!

This replica of the 1972 World’s Greatest Super-Heroes Superman comes in a classically styled window box that features the original WGSH artwork and original item number! Who else can’t wait to hold this figure in their hand, pretend again to make him fly and say “Up, up, and away!”?!!? Toyroom Spotlight is a new feature where members of our community share their own personal Mego Museums with us.
Thomas Burns shares his shelves this week and he states his fascination started with Mego WGSH. He got the Mego POA and Star Trek first, but once he received his first Mego Spider-Man I was hooked. He adds "Through the years, I've had to dial down my collections to mostly just 1950's - 1989. I love anything with great box art. I also have a FB page."

Who wore it best? Galen or Cornelius?
In a move that emulates the 8" Planet of the Apes series, Mego repackaged the Cornelius Bend 'N Flex figure as Galen to reflect the then-new NBC series. So did kids "Collect them all"?
Issue 7 of Toy-Ventures continues our multi-issue look at the Mego Apes toy line with this chapter entitled "Bendin' and Flexing on the Planet of the Apes," looking at one of Mego's more charming additions to this line.
Did you miss print toy collector magazines? So did we; that's why we created Toy-Ventures.
A quarterly print collector magazine that celebrates toys from the 1960s to the 1990s. Since 2020, Toy-Ventures has been taking deep dives into the history of toys and action figures.
7 back issues of Toy-Ventures and ongoing subscriptions are now available at our shop on Amazon, eBay, and better comic shops everywhere.
