The National welcome
Bartees Strange & Hannah Georgas on stage
LISTEN TO BARTEES
As gig life picks up, our flagship signing The National managed to share their stage with both Bartees Strange and Hannah Georgas this summer. First, Hannah dueted with Matt Berninger and the dudes after her own set at Newport Folk Festival. Next, Bartees opened for the band on a run of dates across North America's big sky country. It was the feelgood story of the summer, and a link-up covered in depth in this extensive story by Steven Hyden in Uproxx .

Bryce Dessner was quoted saying, “Someone like Bartees, he seems ambitious in a good way. He makes me think of musicians who are timeless in a way. I could see him having a really vast career based on what I’ve heard and just seeing him on stage. He’s got big things ahead...”

The images will link you to some video tour highlights — the listen buttons to Hannah's and Bartees' own tunes.

LANZ unveils A Drift
Benjamin Lanz aka LANZ will be a familiar face from his longtime role as an auxiliary member of The National.

His own music might remind you of Brian Eno or Sonic Youth—at times hard, hard-to-pin-down, and experimental. But also filled with earworms and the product of a generous, generative soul.

Meanwhile, catch Ben on stage as The National wrap-up their return to touring.
