INDIVISIBLENOCO ENDORSES KIPP, GRISWOLD AND WEISER

………………………………………

Indivisible NOCO endorses Cathy Kipp for reelection for Colorado House District 52. A strong supporter of progressive issues, she has been representing eastern Fort Collins in the Colorado Assembly since 2019. Redistricting has made House District 52 a Republican target so let’s make sure we have a strong turnout to secure progressive representation for Fort Collins!

Jena Griswold, Colorado’s Secretary of State, is running for re-election this November. In her first term, Jena has accomplished much to protect and defend elections and democracy. As Secretary of State, Ms. Griswold made the Colorado elections system one of the finest in the United States and has been a national voice for voter rights and election security.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstones of democracy, and both are in peril. Over the past 18 months, we have seen how important the Secretary of State is in protecting access to the polls and ensuring all votes are counted. Thanks to Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Colorado is now often referred to as “the Gold Standard” for free and fair elections. IndivisibleNOCO is proud to endorse her for re-election!

Phil Weiser is running for re-election as Colorado’s Attorney General and he has more than earned our votes. Weiser’s philosophy of leading with empathy is reflected in his extensive accomplishments, including:

  • Prevailing in the historic Supreme Court victory that protected our state’s election integrity in Colorado Department of State v. Baca
  • Defending DREAMers
  • Protecting Colorado’s land by ensuring that recreational users and developers follow environmental regulations
  • Addressing the opioid epidemic by holding wrongdoers like Purdue Pharma accountable and bringing hundreds of millions of dollars to Colorado for treatment, recovery, and education/prevention programs
  • Defendingthe Affordable Care Act

Weiser is facing a tough reelection campaign.  His seat is considered vulnerable by Colorado and national Democratic party members. Republicans are targeting the Colorado Attorney General race and Weiser needs to be prepared for heavy out-of-state spending by the Republican Attorney General Association. In 2018, the RAGA spent almost $6 million trying to defeat Weiser and could easily spend well beyond that this year.

You can meet Phil in Fort Collins on September 23rd at the Friends of Phil Fundraiser - RSVP here!

CENTER FOR COMMON GROUND'S RECLAIM OUR VOTE PROJET

………………………………………

The Center for Common Ground was founded to educate and empower under-represented voters in voter suppression states to engage in elections and advocate for their right to vote. Reclaim Our Vote is a grassroots, primarily volunteer run campaign  of the CFCG that focuses on increasing voter turnout through post-carding, texting and phone banking. Working with local, on the ground partners and our Democracy Centers, we build effective, respectful and relevant campaigns that engage BIPOC voters around upcoming elections.  In Colorado we are writing encouraging postcards with local voter information to infrequent, registered Black voters for the midterms--currently in Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. We need your help now!  If you are interested in volunteering for this project, email Jackie St. Joan at  and Patty Lawless at

GOTV TEXTING STARTS SOON

………………………………………

The 2022 midterm elections are getting close! And we all know what that means – GOTV TEXTING! The political landscape is looking a bit rosier for Democrats than it did a few months ago, but we cannot get complacent – too much is at stake right now.
As we did in 2018 and 2022, IndivisibleNOCO is organizing a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) texting campaign that starts as soon as ballots are mailed. Building on our previous successes, this election cycle we are adding a new campaign to remind voters, especially “youngish” voters to check that their voter registration is up to date.

Texting is a very easy and very rewarding way to reach voters. We provide all the training and support you need. You don’t use your own phone number and you can do it from the comfort of your home and use any device you are comfortable with (computer, tablet, or phone). So, mark your calendars for the weekend of September 17-18! We will soon announce two training/texting sessions. Plan to attend one of them so that you are up-to-speed when we start the GOTV texting in October. Just send us an email and we’ll add you to the volunteer list. Cannot make it that weekend? No worries. We will have more training/texting sessions in October!

Veteran texters – if you would like to help us support new texters, send us an email.
