Dear Friends,

DISASTERS EMERGENCY COMMITTEE APPEAL FOR PAKISTAN
The DEC has launched a humanitarian appeal in response to the devastating floods in Pakistan.  Please could I encourage all who read this mailing to make a donation, however large or small?  As little as  £10 could provide vital supplies for two people.  To donate click HERE.

THIS SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 10.30 AM
If the weather is dry we will be worshiping outside the church as we give thanks for our  'Wildly Wonderful World'.  See details below.

INCLUSIVE CHURCH
At its next meeting, the Parochial Church Council will be considering applying to join Inclusive Church.   You can read more about this by clicking HERE.   The PCC has been discussing this for sometime and many of you have completed the  Living in Love and Faith course. The videos from the course are available on our website.  Click HERE.

RIDE AND STRIDE SEPTEMBER 10th 2022: A MESSAGE FROM CHRIS JANY
Over the past 25 years, The Surrey Churches Preservation Trust made grants amounting to more than £5000,000 to help with the repair and conservation churches of all Christian denominations. Our very own Lovelace Mausoleum received a significant contribution towards its renovation in 2008. The Trust’s main source of income is through its Ride & Stride Day which takes place over National Heritage weekend. Cyclists and walkers are invited to raise money for both the Trust and participating churches through sponsorship. The event is open to everyone especially hikers and cyclists.  You are more than welcome to join me in cycling around the deanery and visiting the 25 affiliated churches of the Leatherhead Deanery indicated on the map in the church porch. It is a bit more than a walk but not strenuous for an occasional cyclist.  This co-incides with Heritage Day where our own Lovelace Mausoleum will be open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

The route is via Downside, Cobham, Oxshott, Ashtead, Leatherhead, The Bookhams and Effingham finishing at St Martin's at lunchtime.
The money that we collect is divided equally between St Martin’s and the Surrey Churches Preservation Trust.

If you would like to join me for all or part of the route or even do something independently, please be in contact.  To make a donation click HERE.

THE TWELFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY

Almighty and everlasting God,
you are always more ready to hear than we to pray
and to give more than either we desire or deserve:
pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy,
forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid
and giving us those good things
which we are not worthy to ask
but through the merits and mediation
of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

AMEN.
