EIS Virtual Series

After the success of the inaugural webinar "What works for 'what works'?" in May, the 2023 Evidence and Implementation Summit is delighted to announce the next webinar in the EIS Virtual Series to be held next month.

You are warmly invited to join the second webinar in the EIS Virtual Series:

Improving social care systems at scale for children and families
14th September 2022
9:30-10:30am BST / 6:30-7:30pm AEST / 4:30-5:30pm SGT

Services for social care for children and families are among the most complex delivery models within public services. They involve support to populations who may be facing significant adversity, the coordination of multiple services and departments, and an array of programs to deploy.

How can policymakers and practitioners work to improve these complex, multi-layered systems through the application of evidence? How might the practices that are commonly found in effective programs be used more widely and in more flexible ways across systems and workforces? Perhaps most vitally, what approaches can help move beyond the development of islands of excellence and instead improve outcomes at scale for children and their families - in line with the "dramatic, whole system reset" for social care highlighted in the recent Independent review of children's social care in the UK?

This webinar will tap into the insights of global experts on innovative approaches to moving evidence to practice for systems-level transformation that can improve lives. We will be joined by Isabelle Trowler, Chief Social Worker for Children and Families in England, and Argiri Alisandratos, Deputy Secretary for Children, Families, Communities, and Disability with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in Victoria, Australia, alongside CEI's Executive Director Dr Robyn Mildon.

We welcome your early registration.

If you missed the first webinar in the EIS2023 Virtual Series, "What works for 'what works'?", or want to view it again it is now available to watch.

This inaugural session explored how 'What Works' centres can work to bridge the 'know-do' gap - the lag of approximately 17 years from understanding what works to seeing its use in mainstream practice.

The sessions in the EIS Virtual series will address some of the most important questions in the field, through contributions from leading global experts who bring deep experiences across research, policy, and practice.
