22 September | Cyber Persistence Theory: redefining national security in cyberspace, with Richard Harknett
In our September monthly seminar, we welcome Richard Harknett, Professor and Director of Public and International Affairs and Chair of the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy at the University of Cincinnati. He will present the book Cyber Persistence Theory, co-authored with Michael P. Fischerkeller and Emily O. Goldman.

Introducing Arun Sukumar, our new postdoctoral researcher
In September 2022, Arun Sukumar will join us our Program at Leiden University – Institute of Security and Global Affairs as a postdoctoral researcher. Arun’s research examines the creation and interpretation of rules for responsible state behaviour in cyberspace, and more broadly, of security regimes around emerging technologies. Eva Claessen and Julia Voo's Visiting Fellowships
Eva Claessen, PhD researcher in Russia studies at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies (GGS), and Julia Voo, Cyber Fellow and lead of the team behind Harvard Belfer's National Cyber Power Index, joined us both for a visiting fellowship in The Hague in May. Visiting Fellowships Program: Applications open for 2023!
Are you interested to join us for a short-term Visiting Fellowship in the Hague? Our program offers researchers and professionals with an interest and/or background in international cyber security at any stage of their career (from early-career researchers to established professionals) a short-term fellowship of one week up to three weeks at Leiden University's The Hague Campus. The fellowships cover travel and accommodation expenses.
