Organs & Tissues for Life Education Portal
The topic of organ and tissue donation and transplantation can sometimes be emotional and complex, even taboo. We've partnered with experts from around the world to gather and develop tools that will provide guidance to Canadian teachers, making organ donation a more accessible and less intimidating subject.
Don't forget to let the teachers in your life know about the Organs & Tissues for Life education portalfeaturing a wide range of resources and tools appropriate for elementary and high school students. Find high-quality, grade-appropriate resources to help students learn about human organ systems, healthy living, social responsibility and giving back to their community.
On July 21, 2022, the World Health Organization declared the monkeypox outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern. "This communication is intended to inform the transplant community of the potential risk caused by monkeypox to our transplant patients. While there have been no published data on monkeypox in transplant recipients, there is an imminent threat to this immunocompromised group of patients, if the ongoing human-to-human spread continues."

Oct. 15-16: Chain of Life Challenge
The Chain of Life Challenge is an annual event to raise awareness for organ donation education . It takes place across Quebec and beyond in mid-October. The general public is invited to join flag bearers as they carry the Chain of Life flag to the top of regional mountains as a symbolic gesture of solidarity towards all those waiting for a transplant. This year's flag bearers are living donors. This challenge is a great way for families and friends to rally together in a physical activity to celebrate the gift of life and the healthy living.
