Gate City Grove Meeting
The Gate City Grove pagan group will meet Thursday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. at the PUUF Meeting House.
Regular meetings are the first and third Thursdays at 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Festival of Lights 2022
Planning Meeting
Saturday, September 10 at 10 a.m.
Our Festival of Lights coordinating group will have its first meeting on at the UU Meeting House with Zoom attendance available.
All people of PUUF are invited to get involved! We hope to have representatives from all of our committees join in the work.
At our first meeting we will lay out our work for the fall, and conclude with a visit to the Purpose Building downtown as a possible venue for the FoL on Dec. 18.
The PUUF Board will host its annual Retreat for all Board members and Committee Chairs. We will discuss plans for the church year, tweak our Mission and Vision and covenants, and explore plans for effective communication and community involvement. If you are a Committee Chair, please put this on your calendar. We always have a good time and get a lot done. BYOL (lunch).
Summary of PUUF Board Meeting Minutes from August 20
- The Barton Road property sale closes on September 1. Highest bidder thus far is $16,000.
- The treasurer reported that we have $13,331 in undesignated funds; a carryover of $7,162 from the past fiscal year. Offertory of $265 went to Family Services Alliance. Average attendance in July was 17, up from 13 last year.
- Summer Salons will continue through September 4. The Ingathering and regular worship services will begin on September 11.
- The Committee to Call Minister was formed to investigate the possibility of offering Rev. Jenny a permanent position, with Brian Attebery as chair. A guest from the Pacific West Congregational Life staff will present a sermon and explanation of the congregational process on November 4.
- Festival of Lights committee will meet on September 10 at 10:00 a.m. with a tour at 11:00 a.m. of the Purpose Building as a possible venue. All are welcome to attend the meeting.
- Masks are still appreciated at the Summer Salons and all other meetings at the Meeting House.
- By-Laws revisions: A Congregational Meeting is scheduled for November 4, following the worship service, to vote on the new By-Laws.
- A Board and Committee Chair retreat is scheduled for September 24 at 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., location to be announced.
- The next Board meeting will be October 1 at 10:00 a.m. Submitted by Mark Neiwirth, Secretary
