A QUICK THOUGHT:
I read a great insight this past week from Bernard of Clairvaux where he warned that our pride wants to treat God’s gift to us as though they are our own, rightful attributes. In a culture that loves to talk about its rights, we—as Christians—should act differently. We would not even have the most fundamental of rights (life) if it was not for the generosity God shows to us. Let us give thanks! Our rights are in his hands alone. Let us make our petitions known to Him! If we claim to have rights but they are not given to us by God then let us relinquish them quickly. They are not good for us. Let us study the Scriptures so that we know what is good!

Don’t forget that we have a Voter’s Assembly on September 4th after the Divine Service.
It will be quick, but we need the voter’s approval to purchase a new copier for the office.

God bless your week. Come to Bible Class and the Divine Service on Sunday.
