Regional renewable energy assessment underway

With the region seeking to move toward a low carbon future, the GEDC is supporting a locally driven project to assess the current level of regional renewable energy generation and inform future investment decisions.

The Goldfields Voluntary Regional Organisation of Councils' Regional Climate Alliance has engaged consultancy 100% Renewables to undertake a regional energy assessment for the entire Goldfields-Esperance region.

The first phase of the project – stakeholder interviews – is now underway.

The final report will include an analysis of regional energy market trends and recommendations to catalyse further investment in renewable energy.
