Our IRB Team at the State Championships on the weekend

We have our first dry requals available on the below dates and times.

Meet at 6:00pm in the function hall at the club.

Friday 2nd September 2022 at 18:00

The session should last approx 1.5 hours.

Please note, there will be more requals soon so if you can't make these, don't stress!

IRB State Championships Wrap up 2022

Finally the season is over after a few weather interruptions.

The IRB States were due to be held on 18th June at Scarborough, then 31st July at Trigg and eventually held at Sorrento on the weekend.

The Sorrento team made us all proud on the weekend with some very impressive performances.

The team also joined with Quinns/Mindarie to make up a team so that they could compete in the team relay, coming away with a Silver medal.

A huge thank you to all involved.

Youth News
(Under 14 - Under 19)

Nine Weeks until the start of the Youth Sunday Sessions!! We kick-off at the Youth Flags on the beach on 16^th October. We are looking forward to having all of you there and hopefully by then we can deliver warmer temperatures!!

Now’s the time to re-join / sign up and track news on the YOUTH FACEBOOK page. Training has been in full swing through winter and these sessions are posted on the FB page. Updates will be going through on FB with important dates leading up to 16^th October.

Youth SRC Course Dates over the school holidays are being released this week. Please watch out for Jess’s posts and sign up for the course ASAP so that you can get across the online training component and we can organise trainers.

PARENTS & SENIOR YOUTH – HELP WANTED: We are seeking interest from any Parents and Senior Youth that can help in Age Managers & Youth Committee roles. The program we offer is only as good as the depth of help that we can receive in running them. Experience is not needed, just a willingness to turn up for our youth and we will provide the training and support needed. You just need to be keen to give it a go!
Huge thank you to all the trainers, coaches, club captains and mentors in the surf and on sand that are helping the club to deliver an exciting program to our Youth this season.

Our Youth in Action:
SORRENTO IRB RACING TEAM: Congratulations to our youth that competed and managed the team at IRB WA State Champs at Sorrento Beach on the weekend: Georgia, Kristiana, Cate, Kye & Brandon. Awesome racing to watch in flat, sunny conditions. Well done ALL!!

With the winter racing season now finished the IRB Racing Team are looking to recruit new team members to train through this coming summer season. Any youth that keen please reach out to Declan (deccyb333@gmail.com) or Jeff (jbaxter@aps-supply.com).

SORRENTO YOUTH SKI’s DEVELOPMENT SQUAD: Since our last posts to the Newsletter the Squad have reached the halfway point of their Club Winter Series of 6 Races. Our winners of the handicap series so far have been:

RACE1: Megan Kelly, Kai Belmont & Markus Booth
RACE2: Kate Elderfield, Luke Ogden
RACE3: Jorja Parry, Brandon Baguley

Fantastic to see great numbers turning up for these races. We have three more to go. Don’t miss them!!

Memberships for 2022/23 Season

The 2022/2023 Surf Life Saving season is now open, with renewing members given priority until the end of August 2022.

The board has chosen to maintain fees in line with last season and remind members that if required payment plans are available.

Below are details of how to renew your membership.

If you are an existing member, you can just pay online and I will update your membership. If you are paying online, you MUST sign the membership declaration, instructions on how to do this are below on the green button.

If you have any new members in your family, please come down to the office and fill in the forms. You must do this to secure your spot.
