Principal's Reflection
And we’re back! Preparations for today have been alternately frantic and peaceful, busy and calm. Teachers prayed together and planned together, they decorated rooms and worked on lesson plans. We are ready and it was so wonderful to welcome your children back this morning!
This work we do inside this building every day is life-affirming, world-changing, transformative work. In April, Pope Francis gave an address to members of the Global Researchers Advancing Catholic Education (also called GRACE!) while they were on a pilgrimage to Rome in which he spoke about the Church’s work of education that “commits us to, among other things, the building of a better world by teaching mutual coexistence, fraternal solidarity, and peace.” Our Holy Father reminds us that “our faith is a great grace that each of us must daily nurture (and) that in the light of faith, educators and students alike come to see each other as beloved children of God.” This is what we are about each day here at SJB: nurturing our faith in each child while providing a rigorous academic program that prepares each child for their future.
Please join me in praying for a successful year full of learning, growing, faith and friendship!
Gratefully,
Ms. Dana Vance
