AIRPORT AUTHORITY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2022
The monthly meeting of the Perry-Houston County Airport Authority will be held Monday, September 12, at 4 pm at the Perry-Houston County Airport terminal. The meeting will be open to the public.

HANGAR RENT INCREASING IN OCTOBER
As you know, inflation is definitely with us!  Due to the increased cost of utilities and maintaining the hangars, hangar rent will be raised effective with the 2022-23 hangar contracts to be signed by October 1.  This will be the first rise in rental rates since 2019, so we appreciate your understanding the necessity of adequate revenue.  Individual hangar lessees will be notified by email with your new monthly amount.
PXE WELCOMES NEW JET AIRCRAFT

Two Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft will soon be based at the Perry-Houston County Airport.  These will join our first jet, a Hondajet HA-420.  We certainly welcome these two additions to our airport family!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN
October 1 is the date that all contracts and current airworthiness certificates (copy) must be in our files.  A copy of your logbook entry showing your aircraft is airworthy is sufficient for the aircraft part, but you will need to either drop by the office to sign the current lease or call the have the lease emailed to you for signature.  As you probably notice above, hangar rent will be increasing with the new contract.  A non-compliance fee will be assessed for any hangar that does not have both contract and airworthiness certificates on file by October 1.  A copy of your contract will be printed and available at the FBO during September.

You may be wondering why Labor Day is a national holiday and therefore, why we celebrate it. The first-ever Labor Day happened on September 5, 1882 and began when members of New York’s Central Labor Union marched in protest of unsafe work conditions, but also to honor the benefits of the union. Approximately 10,000 workers marched from City Hall to 42nd Street in New York City.

It took three more years for Labor Day celebrations to spread to other major metropolitan areas.

TRAINING GROUND
The Air Force used the Perry-Houston County Airport as a training ground for prospective ground control personnel last month.  The trainees marshalled a Dornier C-146 on the PXE apron.
