Benton County Tree Farmer of the Year Tour - Currier Place, Inc.
Join us for the 2022 Benton County Tree Farmer of the Year tour at Currier Place, Inc. We will see examples of many stages of forest management including plantation establishment, early thinning, and later thinning. In all steps in this process, they are working to increase diversity in this primarily Douglas-fir forest. Thinning densities are variable. Conifer plantings include native shrub species. There is also an opportunity for discussion of the challenges intergenerational transfer and of decision making when an extended family are share-holders.

Time: 8:30 am to 1:30 pm
Location: approximately 9 miles south of Philomath off Bellfountain Rd.
Lunch will be provided for a picnic in the woods. Dress for the weather.
Registration is required by Monday Sept. 12. Directions will be given after registration.
