Green+Leader Feature Story

Elaine Chu advocates for all to Eat for Our Future

More than 750 people visited the Eat for Our Future event at Royal Columbian Hospital this past summer. The event championed & encouraged our healthcare staff to eat for wellness and planetary health, by incorporating more plant-based foods into our diets, reducing food waste; and eating local and in season.

Elaine's event was made possible as a result of being awarded one of three Sustainability Innovation Grants in 2022. Check out the full story on our website!
October is Vegetarian Awareness Month! Get the conversation started with our Toolkit for Making Sustainable Food Choices, and run a Plant Powered 30 challenge at your site!

Champion bike-to-work at your site!

As an avid bicyclist, Green+Leader and BC Cancer Radiation Therapist, Corinne Thompson is familiar with the challenges in making the switch to cleaner modes of transportation. Having identified similar challenges for PHSA staff wanting to commute to work by bike, she took action. With the help of PHSA's Health Promotion Initiative Fund (2022 application still open!), she set up a bike storage cage near her facility making cycling to work safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable. Read the full story on our website!
Want to get involved? Get your teammates together and join the Fall Go-by-Bike weeks taking place between October 3-16! Join in on the fun, or plan your own and let us know! Register yourself or your team, win prizes and more at BikeHub & GoByBikeBC.
