Dear <<First Name>>,

IWA is pleased to invite you to join us at the Gala evening on Thursday 15 September at a special venue in Copenhagen.

The Gala evening of the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition promises to be an outstanding celebration of the best of the water sector. In true IWA flair, the event will provide the highlight of the week’s social activities, with fantastic entertainment accompanied by fine cuisine.

The evening will feature live music from the Danish band StageBreakers, who will surely get the crowd going at Øksnehallen (the Oxen Hall), an elegant historic building in the heart of the lively old meat packing district in Copenhagen that now provides all the facilities need to celebrate in style.

This Gala evening marks the end of the Congress and is the last chance for delegates and exhibitors to get together, celebrate, and party in Copenhagen. So, make your booking now – places are limited and selling out fast!

More about the Venue
The setting for the Gala evening is Øksnehallen (the Oxen Hall), an historic building in the old meat packing district in Copenhagen.

The city architect Ludvig Fenger was responsible for the construction of the ‘Brown area’ of the Meat packing district, in which Øksnehallen opened as the centre of attention in 1901 as a municipal cattle hall.

In 1984, the area was listed as protected and in 1993 a radical renovation of Øksnehallen began, with it being recommissioned for cultural events and exhibitions during Copenhagen Cultural Capital 1996. Today it houses many different types of events such as congresses, banquets and trade fairs, and is also known as an art hall for photo exhibitions.
