Announcements

Dr. Don Capone Fall 2022 Hours Available
  • We are delighted to announce that Dr. Don Capone, UC Berkeley licensed staff psychologist, has resumed his office hours for the Fall 2022 and is available through the end of the semester.
  • Please refer to the email sent on Monday Aug 22 by Jamie Breen with subject "PLEASE NOTE: Mental health and wellness resources available" for more details.
  • He is currently providing Zoom video counseling, phone and some limited in-person sessions for all registered Haas students (i.e., undergraduate, FTMBA, EWMBA, Executive MBA, MFE and Ph.D. students). However, due to licensing laws, you must be located in the state of California to be eligible to receive ongoing tele-counseling services. One-time consultations are possible if you are located out-of-state and are interested in an assessment and local referrals in the state where you currently reside.
Campus Groups Update - Joining Groups Should Be Available
  • We were able to resolve the global technical issue that prevented students from joining certain clubs without first joining the MBAA Association.
  • If you are still noticing issues, please email ewmba_office@haas.berkeley.edu

Football Parking Heads Up
Saturday Sep 10, Kick-off 1PM
  • We highly encourage carpooling, being dropped off, or public transportation on football game days.
  • Taxis and ride shares: Please note that Piedmont Ave at the stadium will be closed 2.5 hours before kick-off through the duration of the game. Therefore, you will need to walk to Hearst Ave. or Bancroft Way to be picked up.
Parking
  • Many campus lots are reserved for season ticket holders on football Saturdays, including all the usual lots, Berkeley Law, Underhill, Foothill, etc.
  • Special Events Parking has allotted EWMBA students the University Extension Lot. We are continuing to work on specifics and will send updates in upcoming BNs.
  • There is an extremely limited number of spaces so we highly encourage carpooling if you absolutely need to drive.
  • There is no shuttle service from campus shuttles or the Program Office.
  • It is a 1.2 mile walk from the lot to Haas.
  • A reminder that daily scratch offs are not valid at the Unex Lot.
Road Closures and Traffic Advisories
  • Piedmont Ave will likely close around 10 or 11AM through the duration of the game.
  • If you do not have an afternoon class, please keep this in mind if you are thinking of taking a rideshare back to the Extension Lot.
  • If the game is over after 5PM, please expect foot traffic along Bancroft Ave. Thank you for your patience on football game days!

Program Office Tips

How to Book Study Rooms via EMS
  • Study Rooms at Haas
    • Where are the Study Rooms?
      • Chou Hall - 3rd, 4th, 5th floors only; enclosed study rooms with telecomm. (1st and 2nd are reserved for Undergraduates, 3rd-5th for MBAs.)
  • How to Reserve a Study Room
    • Log in to Haas EMS with CalNet ID and select Create a Reservation > Group Study Rooms.
    • Study rooms can only be booked 2 hours at a time.
    • Please be courteous of other students and do not overstay your booking.
  • Tips: Reserve vs Request: Some spaces must be requested from other departments. This is denoted on the far left.
COVID Policy Reminder
  • As classes have started, we'd like to remind everyone of the University COVID Policy.
    • If students are experiencing symptoms they should stay home until they know for sure if they have it or not.
    • Since an at home test isn't 100% reassuring, the University asks that students take more than one rapid test or get a PCR test.
    • If a student tests positive, they need to stay home and can watch the class recording for the classes they miss. They should also let their professor know as a professional courtesy and if they have been on campus recently, need to upload a copy of their positive results to eTang.
    • If after 5 days students test negative and have no symptoms, they need to send a message to the COVID Response team via eTang to request to come back to campus.
  • Also, the Program Office cannot evaluate your health status. So if students have symptoms and are still testing negative, or they have other concerns, we recommend talking to one of eTang's 24/7 nurses (510-643-7197) or their own doctor.
  • Masks are strongly recommended but not required. Remember, we are a mask positive community here at Haas.
