For more information, or to RSVP, contact Brian (Wesley's Youth Leader).

Backpack 2022: Thank You!

At this year's annual Backpack Festival, we distributed more than 900 backpacks to children and youth in our community. An additional 600 backpacks will be distributed in the coming days. We also were able to hand out packages of socks & underwear, toiletries, and snacks to our guests. Our partners at Wegman's provided fresh produce for families, while the Cops & Kids program handed out free books to every guest. We also welcomed members of the Bethlehem Fire Department and Bethlehem Mounted Police who interacted with our guests throughout the morning.

Many thanks to the volunteers (approximately 100 of them!) who helped make this incredible event possible. And many thanks for all the donations and fundraiser support throughout the year. We can't wait for next year's "We Got Your Back" festival!

Sunday School Is Coming...

Celebrate the start of the Sunday School year with us!

Join us for our Sunday School Scavenger Hunt on Sunday September 11 in the Fellowship Hall. You'll have the chance to meet Sunday School teachers and search for treasure -- hints from Bible stories and characters to remind us that God loves us!

And mark your calendars for our Rally Day and Back to Sunday School with Jesus! On Sunday September 18, join us for our pancake breakfast. Share fellowship and yummy pancakes before Sunday School classes begin.

Also, don't forget to register for Sunday School classes! To register, click here. Have questions? Email Miss Deb.

Church Library

Many people have been asking when there would be another used book sale. Well, the time is here! Books will be available for sale in the Atrium before and after worship services on September 18 and 25 for a free will offering. If you have books to donate, bring them by Friday September 16 and leave them behind the librarian’s desk in the Library. No encyclopedia sets, National Geographic magazines, old textbooks or Reader’s Digest condensed books, please. Let Barbara Reimers know (610-694-0767) if you can help with setup on Saturday, September 17 at 2:00 PM or tear down on Sunday September 25 at 12:30 PM. Thank you!

Pastoral Care Needs

If you have a pastoral care or emergency need, please reach out to Pastor Candy via the church office, or by email.

Lehigh Valley Outreach Depot

This week we were able to take 230 cleaning buckets and 203 hygiene kits to Mission Central for distribution to Kentucky families devastated by recent flooding. We were also able to provide a number of pieces of medical equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, commodes, and shower chairs, etc.

Produce Pickups

Do you have produce from your garden (whether a garden plot at the church, or your own garden at home) that you'd like to donate to local food pantries? Drop your items off before our produce pickup times (Mondays and Thursdays at 9AM), and we'll take them to the food pantry for you! Please place your donation items in the large bin outside the church's front doors.

Men's Fellowship Breakfast

The Men's Fellowship Breakfast group is currently on summer hiatus, and will resume with their breakfast on Saturday September 17. For more information on the men's ministry, please contact Rich Chambers.

COVID Update

Masking will remain optional at Wesley Church.
In order to help you make an informed decision about your own mitigation practices, the church will share our county's updated risk category and corresponding CDC guidelines in each edition of our weekly enews. For more information, visit cdc.gov.

Northampton County is currently in the "medium risk" category.
CDC guidelines include:
  • If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
  • Get tested if you have symptoms
