BOARDING NEWSLETTER
Kia ora whānau and welcome back to our week 5 of term 3 boarding newsletter. We have enjoyed some milder, warmer days this week and the boys have again been energised.
The Week So Far

Lots of boys are gearing up for the final couple of weeks of Winter sport and tournament week. We have a large number of boys away playing first XL hockey, U15 basketball and Rugby in the coming week.

As I write this, 5 of our boarders are part of the First XV rugby squad, preparing to face Nelson College tomorrow in the Miles Toyota first XV final. We wish the boys success and are proud of their efforts and achievements. This goes for all our sportsmen who are away representing the College over the coming tournament week.

It was pleasing to see so many of our boarders, involved in the Sacramental programme during the week. The pictures with the Bishop in the Chapel, I am sure you will agree are marvellous.

We have a Junior Boarder’s dance coming up shortly at Rangi Ruru on 16 September. We are asking boys to let us know who is keen to go, so we can organise transport and supervision to attend. We are hoping to take the Year 11/12/13 boys to He Puna Taimoana hot pools this coming Tuesday 8-10pm. This will give them a good opportunity to relax and soak.

We hope you enjoy your weekend wherever you are. Best Wishes Dai and the boarding team.

On Tuesday this week, the College celebrated 48 students receiving their Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church, with our Boarders making nearly a third of this number! A warm congratulations to Sam Chapman, Blake Scott, Jimmy Ferguson, Bede Irving, Jake O'Sullivan, Tobi Moore, Finn Kelly, Angus Ferguson, Jack Yagmich, Dan Scott, Fergus Hanrahan, Riley Abbott, Flynn Horn, Jack Hislop, and Hunter Mathers, for receiving their Sacraments. Well done for demonstrating your faith by making this commitment. We hope you all continue to strengthen your faith journey while at school, and beyond.
Hopefully we have a lot of numbers attending Disco Fever in a few weeks! As mentioned earlier, junior boys can let any dorm master know they are keen to go and we'll help get them there.
Yoga on Wednesday with our new instructor Kim, the boys are learning new movements which is always fun!
Pasta carbonara was the favourite dinner dish of the week!
