Why Five Moments?

Life is made up of moments and they come in many different forms. We don’t always recognize the significance or appreciate each one like we should. Every Thursday I share some of my favorite moments with you in hopes that we can all live in and appreciate the significance and impact that each moment offers.

Made For This Moment

Moments To Lead

Everyone needs some hope. Everyone you see, meet, and know.

So what is hope? Hope can be defined as "a feeling that something good will happen or be true."

As a leader one of the biggest things you can offer and give to those around you is hope.

How do you connect with people so they believe in you and the hope that you can offer?

1. Believe in who you are and the gifts that you have.
2. Be honest and sincere.
3. Get to know people. Listen.
4. Live what you say.
5. Adjust to what people may need.
6. We over me.
7. Believe in them. Tell them and then believe some more.
8. Offer a calm and positive direction.

Doing the best that you can with these eight things consistently doesn't guarantee anything but it does give you a chance.

A chance to offer hope to those that may be willing to let you lead them.

All you want is a chance.

All they need is some hope.
You can offer them that.

I'm cheering for you.

Moments To Be Better

Part of being a dealer of hope is being a person of encouragement. It’s not that difficult really.

Be mindful of who is around you, what is going on around you and step into the moment when given the opportunity.

I’m keeping an eye out. Join me. Let’s be engaged in our moments. Right Now.

Moments From Social Media

The stories of Kobe’s workouts are epic.

Prepare for whatever you are doing like you are on the bottom but perform like you are the one of the best.

Do it all humbly.

Moments From What I’ve Read

Staying in John Maxwell’s 360 Leader book again this week.

Another great tidbit in this book is his ABC’s of Energy Drain. Have you ever experienced it? Redundant question. We all have.

Here is what he says they are:

Activity Without Direction - doing things that don’t seem to matter.

Burden Without Action - not being able to do things that really matter.

Conflict Without Resolution - not being able to deal with what’s the matter.

When a leader has these they have to work extra hard to maintain their energy level - either that or find a new job.

Moments You Remember

Monday night I went down to Johnston, IA and spent some time on a show called Live From The Path. It is a weekly show with some friends from back in our Pathway Church days. (thus the name featuring The Path.)

I got to talk about leadership and moments and specifically got to remember the moment that really changed the trajectory of my life. Eight words from my basketball coach, Coach Kent Gade. We talk about this very early in the show.

Take a moment to remember moments that changed the trajectory of your life. I believe it is good for the soul and helps to keep you grounded and focused on your purpose.

Todd Gordon Shares How One Moment Changed His Life

I was blessed to see Coach Gade last Saturday night at my birthday and retirement party.

Thank You for reading and supporting Five Moments.

I appreciate you all so much.

Be Blessed!
