Ribbon Cutting at DDF @ Ardenwood Grand Opening Event

Thanks for making the Grand Opening of the DDF Regenerative Project at Ardenwood a Success!

Thank you to all the farmers, volunteers, staff, Sheriff’s deputies, and everyone who helped make the Dig Deep Farms Grand Opening event a tremendous success.

Speakers address the crowd
Sasha Shankar, Co-director, DDF; Alameda County Supervisor Dave Brown; Troy Horton, Co-director, DDF

The 90-acre Dig Deep Farms Regenerative Farming Project at Ardenwood Historic Farm will advance the County’s local, circular food economy. The farm will accelerate the production of nutrient-dense produce for Recipe4Health, the County’s food-as-medicine program.

The Dig Deep Farms expansion is also a critical element of the Sheriff’s Community Capitals Policing (CCP) initiative. The CCP initiative breaks down silos and builds new collaborations to support a community-driven model of community policing.  Through strategic “capital” investments to reduce crime, we are helping residents in the County’s unincorporated communities thrive. Access to healthy food, strengthening community, and creating living wage jobs are only some of the benefits of the CCP initiative.

We are grateful to the many partners who helped us achieve this milestone, including:

  • The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office
  • The Alameda County Board of Supervisors
  • The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency
  • The East Bay Regional Park District
  • Pay Now Direct
  • WellNest
  • All In Alameda County
