QinetiQ Robotics Challenge 2022 Final

On Thursday 24th November, we held the QinetiQ Robotics Challenge Final at QinetiQ in Malvern. It was great to be back to hosting face to face finals again where the students were able to experience QinetiQ behind the scenes and learn more about what they do.

All participating schools demonstrated a fantastic knowledge of coding and worked well as a team. Congratulations goes to Holy Redeemer Primary School who really pulled out all of the stops to become the 2022 Challenge Champions. To reward them for their hard work, they got to take their very own Sphero Bolt back to school.

Registrations are now open for the Challenge 2023 and so if you would like to find out more please visit our website.

Maths Kit for Hire

With school's feeling the pressure, it can be tricky to find inventive ways to inspire your students. Why not hire our Maths kit to motivate your students.

Francesca Amigioni, Y6 teacher at The British School had this to say...

"Year 6 loved working collaboratively to solve the challenges that the maths kit presented. The children worked through a variety of the activities in mixed ability groups, including Nim, Magic Square, Pythagoras’ Theorem, Towers of Hanoi and Handshakes, all of which I had modelled for them beforehand. All children participated fully, including those with SEND. The children were excited, engaged throughout, enthused about their mathematical learning and proud when they successfully solved problems. It was fantastic to hear their mathematical discussion and the ways in which they shared their strategies for solving each problem before testing them out. The children have already asked when we can have the kit again!"

A weeks long hire costs £125 plus travel for delivery and collection (Gloucestershire only). For more information, email admin@stemworks.co.uk.
