Three of me as I arrived in SDC three times in June 2019.....Les Simons.
Thanks Les for sharing these three great moment with us!
St James Day 2021 ~ Sunday the 25th July
St James Feast Day is the 25th of July, as the 25th of July falls on a Sunday this year, this year is known as a Holy Year. It is also known as a Jacobean Year and Pilgrims can seek plenary indulgence at Santiago Cathedral. The original entrance to the Santiago Cathedral is also opened. This is known as the Holy Door.

During the time around the 25th of July in Spain many celebrations take place with light shows, fireworks, signing, dancing and feasting and of course special services are held in the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

In 2019 we held the inaugural  Feast of St James dinner, hosted by Jerard and Enda, in Wentworth Falls, it was indeed a feast and a celebration. Sadly in 2020 we were unable to hold this event and with us currently in lockdown in NSW planning anything feels way to much of a challenge and would not be permitted given the current restrictions. We have instead asked our group for a thought, or a photo, on their arrival in Santiago and their first sighting of the Cathedral. We are also hosting a St James Day Zoom (Details Below).

If you would like to share your arrival at the Cathedral, email us HERE.

A Sydney Walk ~
Pre current lockdown and in some glorious sun.
On Sunday13th June a group of 12 like minded walkers met at Circular Quay to join in on Day Two of the Bondi to Manly walk. After a ferry ride to Rose Bay and a coffee stop we headed out on a glorious sunny winters day to walk to Milsons Point.

It was wonderful to explore parts of Sydney some of us had never seen and get to appreciate what a beautiful city we live in.

Morning Tea was in McKell Park in Darling Point and a picnic lunch was enjoyed at Mrs Macquarie's Point. We then ventured past our starting point before heading over the Bridge and a return home.
As always, a great day was had with lots of talking, sharing and laughter.

Day 3 is planned for Sunday 22 August. We will meet at Milson Point and walk about 20 km to The Spit. All are welcome to join us.

Our Next Event - Cancelled.
The Camino Training Walk scheduled for the 30th July is cancelled due to the current lockdown restrictions.
