Dear ECRR Network Member,

Thank you so much for those who have already submitted river barrier candidates to be removed through this financing support! We have quite a few already!

We would like to remind the rest of our colleagues that by June 30th we will close the questionnaire site where we are collecting all potential river barriers which might get financial support to be removed in 2022. If you are interested in applying for this funding opportunity, please read the invitation letter below.
You are welcome to check the questions being asked in the example that can also be found in the invitation below (do not send this questionnaire by email, only online questionnaires will be collected).
If you want, you can share this call with anybody who you think might be interested to apply for funding to remove small river barriers. Please, if you have any question feel free to answer directly this email to Sharelle.Verheij@ecrr.org

My apologies in advance for cross-posting.

Kind regards,
---
Sharelle Verheij

Dear ECRRNetwork member.

We are contacting you today on behalf of the World Fish Migration Foundation (WFMF), Global Water Partnership (GWP), the European Centre for River Restoration (ECRR), and Dam Removal Europe (DRE). We have combined our networks and we will all reach out to our own network for this message. Therefore, please excuse us if you have already received this same email via one (or more) of the above organisations. If that is the case, you can ignore this email.

This is a joint consultation of WFMF, DRE, ECRR and GWP. It was funded with support from Arcadia, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.  We are currently searching for barrier removal projects that have the potential for high ecological restoration. Barriers should have a height ≤ 2m, width ≤ 25m. There is potential for a limited number of demolition projects to be funded in 2022 and we are searching for projects that are close to their final phase i.e. ready to be demolished. Any other costs such as permits or consultancies can only be considered if there are strong guarantees that the barrier can be removed within a few months.

If you are not in any way responsible for a barrier and its potential removal, but you do know someone or an organisation that is, we would like to ask you to forward this email to them and add us in the CC. We wish to identify as many opportunities as possible.

In order to investigate whether your barriers are eligible for financial support, we would like to invite you to fill out a questionnaire which includes questions on the characteristics and geographical location of the proposed barrier(s) and the reason(s) for its removal. You can fill out the questionnaire via the link at the bottom of this email. Your answers to questions will be saved as you progress to the next page. If the questionnaire is closed and not yet finished, you can continue to complete it if using the same device. The answers will only be submitted to us after completion.

The final deadline for filling out the questionnaire is June 30th.
For any questions that may arise, please answer this email.

At the end of the consultation, we aim to keep your information among the project partners for the time being. You will receive your own answers to the questionnaire as a PDF file from us to save for your own purposes
