All of the entries are in the exhibition at More Music which is now on and can be viewed Monday - Friday, 11 am - 4:30 pm.

Call for artists in North West England

Entangled project logo
Entangled is a week-long outdoor and online festival coming to Morecambe Bay this September. What we’re looking for: We want to commission four artists who are living in North West England and working in any art form. You’ll need to be curious about, and keen to respond to, current research in environmental science and digital technologies. You’ll have full support from the research team when developing your work, so you’re not expected to be an expert in these areas. We’d like artists to produce an engaging temporary artwork, event, encounter, or activity that will form a key part of our festival. There are four commissions, one for each of the following themes: flooding, biodiversity, soils, and modelling futures. For additional info on each commission please see the final section of this call.
Deadline for submissions to this call: 5pm (BST) Monday 5th July
Artists notified of selection decisions by: Wednesday 14th July
Online intro meeting: a date to be negotiated in July
Work-in-progress check-in: a date to be negotiated in early August
Work to be finalised by: Friday 10th September

That Little Spring Thing - graphic
After a callout for commissions in May, a few weeks ago More Music welcomed artists outside their building to film their creations for That Spring Thing 2021 film. On recording day, neighbours in the West End were invited to watch the performances.
We can't wait to see the completed film, which will be premiered at the end of June online - keep an eye out on More Music Facebook page.
Wakes Week Mural, Sandylands
Deco Publique - Wakes Weeks
Now that the scaffolding has been dismantled, the magnificent mural on the Sandylands prom can now be viewed properly.
The other aspect of the Wakes Week commission will be a new choreographed artwork devised Jenny Reeves who has been working with peer and collaborator Ellen Jeffrey on site. This will explore the entangled movement patterns of flight, tide and weather at Heysham Head. Here are some behind the scenes of the artists developing the dance in the beautiful landscape of Heysham Head. We look forward to sharing the final performance in the coming weeks.
