CO '24 - 9th grade celebration; opening for a PTO class representative
Dear Class of 2024 Parents and Caregivers,
How many times recently have we heard (or even said), "This has been a year like no other!" And yet, even if the words feel overused, the sentiment is spot on. Here our students are at the end of their freshman year, a year like no other, and they did it! Good for them! Let's give them a little pat on the back--or even better, let's give them popsicles!
Popsicle Party
Next Thursday immediately after school, there will be a popsicle party for all 9th graders on the blacktop at OLS. (Sugar-free popsicles will be available for those who need them.) The celebration was conceived by the OLS guidance staff and will be funded by PTO, but we need you to pull it off.
We're looking for a few volunteers to be at OLS next Thursday (June 17) from 2:30pm until about 4pm. We'll set up stations, hand out popsicles, and clean-up. If you can bring a large cooler with you, even better, but not required.
To volunteer, please email ptoclassreps2024@gmail.com
Needed--another Class of '24 PTO rep
The Class of '24 has an opening for a parent or guardian to serve as PTO representative. You will be one of three class reps who share the work of: 1) facilitating communication between parents/guardians and BHS administration and staff, 2) serving as the voice of parents/guardians of CO '24 to the PTO executive board; 3) helping decide how the PTO spends it funds for grants to teachers and staff. The commitment is for three years and requires one meeting per month, a few additional meetings throughout the year, and a few hours a month communicating with parents and school staff.
If you are interested in serving or would like to find out more information, please email ptoclassreps2024@gmail.com.
Thank you,
Jenn Marckres and Carin Aquiline
