Thank you for joining the call on the SBA Community Navigator Pilot program. Collaboration will be key to winning grant funding throughout the state.

It was great to see so many people interested in being part of this. If you missed the meeting, here’s the recording. If you want to see what we covered at the last meeting, head to the bottom of this email.

This application is looking for a collaborative approach to long-term small business recovery and resiliency that will leverage existing resources and the community, and statewide collaboration will be key to developing a coordinated strategy that brings in as many dollars as possible to support Missouri entrepreneurs through this program.

The great news is that Missouri already has a hub and spoke network in place for just this reason! HINT: It’s all of YOU – the MOSourceLink Resource Network.

To keep the lines of communication open and to ensure a coordinated approach across all applications submitted from Missouri, MOSourceLink will continue to convene Resource Partners around these SBA Community Navigator efforts and provide capacity-building support to project hub and spoke organizations.

Our next meeting is Monday, June 14 at 11:30 AM. Register here.

NOTE: You must register for the meeting if you wish to continue to receive future meeting invitations and updates regarding statewide coordination of SBA Community Navigator projects. I’ll remove anyone not registered from future emails about the project to help keep inboxes clear.

We will assess tentative projects for any overlap in project geography or spoke organizations, identifying opportunities for collaboration among groups and partners will be asked to share any updates related to potential project planning.

To help prepare for the meeting, please contribute to the “MO’COLLABORATION_SBA CommNav” document via the shared OneDrive folder here. Additional meeting and support documents are also in that folder.

If there are other groups that would be a good fit for collaboration, please invite them to join.

Key takeaways from our last meeting:
  • Grant application deadline is July 12, 2021
  • Project begins Sept. 1, 2021, not to exceed 24 months
  • Hubs with previous SBA project coordination experience is a plus. Bonus if experienced with EDMIS-compliant data and client management systems
  • Multiple organizations are interested in participating as hub/spoke
  • Strong interest for St. Louis regional project; Kansas City, bi-state regional project; and possible collaboration on a “rural” regional project
  • Additional coordination is still necessary to develop collaborative project strategies and identify project leads/hubs, especially in areas outside of St. Louis and Kansas City regions
  • A central access point is needed to facilitate Resource Partners’ ability to easily identify and develop collaborations to create hub/spoke partnerships and provide a platform for continued coordination among potential grant projects as they continue to develop across the state.

Yours in entrepreneurship,
