  • July 28 --  Iowa Cartoonist "Buck Jones" presents an Interactive Presentation for adults & kids for all ages at 1:00 pm.
    • Last Day of Summer Reading Program - bring in reading logs at 12:30pm so we can tally up winners. 
    • After Buck Jones Program there will be Ice Cream Social for Summer Reading Program Participants and Handing out of Prizes to Teams & Individuals.

Explore Iowa Libraries Adventure Pass 

Adventure Pass (made possible by the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library) allows our library patrons to check out a pass for 2 adults and 2 children to visit the Blank Park Zoo or Science Center of Iowa this year. See our website for more information.

Library Book Sale Fund-raiser in July

Our sales shelves are OVERFLOWING!!  In order to make room for NEW books, we have set aside the entire month of July at the library for a HUGE sale!  A wide selection of Books, DVD/VHS movies, audio CDs for you to Take HOME!  Funds donated are used to buy new books and help with library programs.  It’s a win-win situation.  Please make sure to stop by the library during July!!! 

Mommy & Me Story Hour Every Friday 10-11am  

Open to all children age 5 and younger, (During Summer Months 1st grader to Preschoolers are welcome to join our Story Hour).

Glass Case Display - 2021 Summer Reading Program PRIZES
QUILTERS!
The MJB Library would like to invite area quilters to share their quilts for a month.  We have had several people contact us already and have filled months up to April 2022. Let us know if you are interested in being added to the schedule for 2022.

Thank you for allowing us to display the beauty and mastery of this art form throughout the coming months.
 
COLLECTORS!
We have openings for the glass case display for the months September- December of 2021.  The MJB library would like to showcase some of the many different collections that Guthrie County residents have in their homes.  In the past our glass display case has had wood carvings, sea shells, “Little Women” plates, “Cows on Parade” and tractors (among other themes).
