Saturday at Sims Market

Sims Market is open every Saturday 9am to 1pm, year-round. This season we have indoor and outdoor vendors, food trucks, and outdoor seating beside the Woonasquatucket River and Greenway. Sorry, pets are not allowed inside.

The PVDLive Music Series continues with steel drum soloist Jose Panman Costa!

Shop for delicious local food, sit and enjoy the Woonasquatucket River, and feel the island vibes!

Liked the mural painting last weekend? They'll continue on the first Saturday of each month, along with the new outdoor Art Market being held 10am–3pm across the street at The Steel Yard (27 Sims Ave). There's always something fun in The Valley!

This season, Sims Market has farm and food vendors inside and out. Through June 30 we will continue to require masks at all times unless you are sitting at a table, regardless of vaccination status. Please do not walk around the market without a mask on.
We no longer count as you enter and exit. Sampling is now allowed, as well as eating and drinking inside. We kindly remind you to please put your mask back on once you're finished eating/drinking. At the end of June we will be reevaluating our guidelines and will keep you updated.

Farm to University

This week our Market Mobile team finished another successful round of boxes for the Brown University student produce program. We made 160 boxes with Schartner Farms potatoes, RI Mushroom Co. shrooms, Kitchen Garden Farm lettuce, and Ward's Berry Farm asparagus, onions, and baby turnips.
Big shout-out to our team members Tenin, Nelson, Tim, and Henri for putting in the groundwork and making the boxes, and to Chloe for sourcing all the awesome local produce!

We're looking forward to making more boxes for Brown in the upcoming weeks.

Harvest Kitchen Cafe

Order ahead for curbside pickup or stay for awhile in our beautiful space with free Wi-Fi. We're open Weekdays 10am-3pm at the corner of Main Street and Bayley Street in downtown Pawtucket (2 Bayley St). Enter our parking lot from Main Street.

This week our youth trainees gave our freshly baked Almond Brownies a rainbow-sprinkle makeover in honor of Pride Month!

Food Solutions New England
Updating the New England Food Vision

In 2014, Farm Fresh RI adopted the first-edition "50 by 60" Food Vision" from Food Solutions New England (FSNE), as one of the guiding visions for our organization. The regional plan had the goal of building capacity for our region to produce 50 percent of its own food by 2060. (90% of the food we consume still comes from outside the region.)

Now FSNE is asking important questions like: What is our collective vision for the future of New England’s regional food system? How might 30% of New England's food be produced in our own region by 2030?

Learn more from FSNE and register your interest in the Vision Update process:

"Whether it’s because of disruptions brought on by the Covid19 pandemic, growing attention to the persistent racism and white supremacist patterns in our culture, or accelerating uncertainty around climate and related crises, many of us in the FSNE network have realized that it’s time to update the original New England Food Vision to better reflect where we are now and what the pivotal decade ahead requires of us as a food system transformation network. How would you like to stay connected to the Vision Update process or even participate in that Update? We are at the beginning of a 12- to 18-month process, but please take a moment to register your interest here.
