Response to Open Letters

Dr. Trevor Young, Dean of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, addresses anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of racial and religious discrimination. Learn about the initiatives the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is undergoing to combat these issues, including: 
  • Faculty initiatives relating to religious intolerance and supports

 A big congratulations to all our June 2021 graduates! The University of Toronto will host a virtual ceremony to celebrate graduates on Wednesday, June 23 at 12:00 pm

After more than a year of adjusting to life during a pandemic, it can often feel like our individual and collective anxiety levels are spinning out of control. Yet, is worry always harmful?

Delve deeper into UofTMed magazine's upcoming "Possibilities" issue in the next offering in our popular Temerty Medicine Talks series. Join the Globe and Mail's André Picard and Temerty Medicine clinicians and scientists Kymm Feldman, Jodi Lofchy, Sanjeev Sockalingam, and Trisha Tulloch as they discuss healthy worry in the context of individual well-being, relationships, and medical practices, as well as techniques for living with anxiety in our daily lives. SGS COVAX Talk Series: “COVID-19 Myths & Facts”
June 23, 6:00 - 7:00 pm


The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on  marginalized communities. While most of us are eager to get our vaccine, a significant proportion of our communities have concerns and underlying fears. Interested to learn more about Ontario public health response to COVID and common vaccine concerns in communities? Join us on for a panel discussion on “COVID-19 Facts and Myths.” Register here.
Grounding Health Research with Indigenous Knowledge
June 24, 3:30 - 5:00 pm


Join us during Indigenous History Month to learn how to bridge clinical practices and health research with equity and Indigenous knowledge with Diane Simon. Diane recently graduated with a Master of Public Health from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health with a collaborative specialization in Health Policy. She is currently engaged in community-based research projects and works as a consultant with the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives. She holds a BHSc in Midwifery and focuses on Indigenous, community-based health services. She is a registered member of the Mi’kmaq Nation and a community activist. Register here.

SGS Summer Gym Bursary

With an aim to foster holistic health and wellness of graduate students, the SGS Summer Gym Bursary offers students a reimbursement for up to 100% of their campus summer athletic membership or program fees. The SGS Summer Gym Bursary is open to registered professional and research stream graduate students. 

With the SGS Summer Gym Bursary, students can receive up to $100 towards the cost of their purchase to access either in-person or on-line programs through a campus athletic facility. For more info, see SGS Summer Gym Bursary

Congratulations to IMS PhD Candidate Swapna Mylabathula, and her sister Sandhya Mylabathula, for receiving the Youth Media Alliance Award of Excellence for Best Program, Short Form Content, Ages 9+!
