Simmons University
Parkinson's Disease Research

My name is Mary and I am a Physical Therapy Student who is part of a student research team at Simmons University. My team and I are doing research on exercise and mental health in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) during the COVID-19 pandemic. We would greatly appreciate your participation in this study.

The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on people with PD. The survey responses of people diagnosed with PD before March 1 2020 will be included in this study.

The study will consist of a short, electronic survey with questions regarding exercise and mental health levels both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. There will also be some questions about your age, living situation, and social support. No identifiable information will be collected and responses will be kept in a protected folder. You may use p from a friend or family member to fill out the survey if needed.

We are grateful for your support and hope that you will participate in our study. If you have additional questions or concerns, please email us at colettim@simmons.edu and we would be happy to address them.  We have also put together a list of helpful resources for people with PD at the bottom of this email.
