Let Napa Parks & Rec Know:
Support Pickleball

Hello <<First Name>>,
On Wednesday, June 16th, Nancy Snowden and I are presenting to the Napa Parks, Recreation and Tree Advisory Commission on why the City of Napa needs to reserve funding to resurface the sports courts at Las Flores Park; in addition, we are requesting the city to take one of the existing courts and dedicate it to pickleball, resulting in four permanent pickleball courts.

We Need Your Voices!
I am reaching out to all of you to join us by submitting an email expressing why YOU want dedicated courts at Las Flores Park. Our community needs to be heard loud and clear that pickleball is here to stay as the sport continues to thrive and grow in Napa. The current courts are in very bad shape. We need state of the art court surfaces plus courts dedicated exclusively for pickleball.

Comments Are Due June 16th, 8:00am
Your written comments must be received by 8AM on Wednesday, June 16th and be 500 words or less.

Please write in the SUBJECT Line: “COMMENT TO PTRAC FOR JUNE 16, 2021 MEETING” and SEND YOUR EMAIL to:  azarco@cityofnapa.org

If we all send an email, it will speak volumes. PLEASE email them before the deadline

The Coaches Corner
While pickleball is an easy sport to learn and pick up quickly, there are many ways we can continue to improve our skills and game strategies. With that in mind, we are offering a series of free, mini-clinics the second Sunday of each month. One topic, one hour, each month.

July 11th Mini-Clinic: Dealing with Bangers
In pickleball speak, a banger is a person who hits the ball hard and attempts to overpower their opponent. Many players, especially when first starting out, are bangers – simply because they haven't yet learned the strategies of the soft game.

So what's the best way to deal with bangers? A lot of pickleball design and strategy are there to neutralize bangers. But if you want to learn more about what you can do to defeat a banger, join us July 11th at 10:30am at Las Flores. No sign-up required -- just show up!
