One of our most important stakeholders at WESSA are our Teachers! We cannot thank our teachers enough for their commitment and dedication to improving the education of our South African youth. In 2021, as part of our annual WESSA National Awards, we are launching a new award, the WESSA Teachers Award which will honour the teachers in the WESSA Eco-Schools, Young Reporters for the Environment and Learning About Forests and Biomes programmes.

Through this award, we will celebrate the unique contribution of teachers and honour their commitment to improving quality environmental education in the South African school curriculum and enriching the lives of their students. Please support WESSA and take part in this opportunity and nominate a teacher that has impacted you, your school, and your community. What a wonderful way to celebrate and appreciate our hard-working and committed teachers who are shaping the minds of our future generations.
WHO CAN MAKE NOMINATIONS?
Anyone can nominate a teacher for the award. Please note that nominations must be teachers that are registered WESSA Eco-Schools, Young Reporters for the Environment or Learning About Forests and Biomes programmes. Nominations are directed to the WESSA Awards Committee at awards@wessa.co.za.
