Recognizing Small Businesses
for their Big Impact

California's 4.1 million small businesses are critical to the state's economy. In fact, small businesses comprise 99.8% of all businesses in California and they are responsible for employing more than 48% of all in-state workers.

In an effort to highlight notable small businesses in our communities, Sabrina Cervantes' office is accepting nominations for their 60th Assembly District Small Business of the Year, looking for small businesses that give back and enhance the quality of life in our communities.

Accepting nominations until Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

Covid-19 Small Business Relief Opportunity

The SBA has launched the Community Navigator Pilot Program, a $100 million grant program enacted through the American Rescue Plan Act, which will provide counseling, networking, and the assistance needed during this time of economic recovery to the nation’s smallest businesses. The program will target small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, as well as women and veterans.

The SBA will engage with states, local governments, SBA resource partners, and other organizations in targeted outreach efforts. These partners and people in the community are key to this pilot program as they will serve as a two-way information stream, enabling enterprising business owners to receive the help needed from the SBA.
