Phobia Solution

Isaiah 12:2 (NIV®)
“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”

Fear is a powerful thing. There are more than five hundred identifiable fears treated by the psychiatric community. You’ve probably heard of arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. But you may not have heard of pogonophobia, the fear of beards. It seems that fear defines much of the way we see our world. It defines our reactions to life events, our relationships with others, and even our responses to God. I have experienced in my life and in ministry that to find freedom from fear you have to want it with all of your heart, and instead of being delivered in an instant, most often you will have to walk out of it one step at a time. You will have to choose to trust God rather than stand still and say, “When God wants me to be delivered from this, He will deliver me.” Remember who it is that you are putting your trust in. It is the Lord, the Lord Himself who is your strength, your defense, and your salvation.

THINK ABOUT IT
A “trust transfer” withdraws your trust from something you are depending upon for security, peace, or safety and redeposits it elsewhere. If you have been trusting your life to anything or anyone other than Almighty God, transfer it to the only One who can save, deliver, and heal. He is able.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive me for when I have trusted systems, people, or my provision to keep me more than I have trusted in You. I leave those things at the foot of Jesus’ cross and declare my trust in You alone for all my needs and all of my life. Thank You that You are able. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
