Renovation Update
Renovation Work Begins!

The Library is now closed as we prepare the building for our interior renovation. Work begins on Monday, June 14th.  The selected contractor is Ausland Group out of Grants Pass, Oregon. Our interior renovation is slated to take approximately 7 months.

While the main library is closed, we will be operating a mini library out of the Library Annex, in the Friends of the Library's Bookstore space located at 402 Alder St. We'll have new and popular books & DVDs to browse, staff to help you find what you need, and all of your holds available for pickup. While the full collection won't be available for you to browse in person, we will be able to access what you need and pull it from storage. And you can continue to request items from other Coastline libraries, as you always have.

We'll also have a computer lab operating out of the Annex's conference room with black and white printing available. Computer use is by appointment only. We will begin taking appointments when we reopen on June 21st.

During this current two-week closure period, we will not be answering phones or offering hold pickups. But don't worry--none of your holds will expire during the June 7 - 19 closure period, and you will have 9 days after we reopen to pick up any holds that came in before or during the closure.

The book return slot outside the library is open and will remain open for returns throughout the renovation. So you can return items there, or bring them into the Annex branch during open hours.

So hold tight! While we're busy preparing the library for renovation and moving operations over to the Annex, we'll look forward to seeing you again on Monday, June 21st. Our hours of operation at the Annex will continue to be based on our County's Covid-19 Risk Level. See details here.

Events

We will continue to have events during the renovation closure. You can see all of our events with detailed descriptions online at https://chetco.librarycalendar.com/. Keep an eye on our website or Facebook for any event updates or cancellations.

She will be discussing her award-winning book We Are Not From Here, and talking with our community about the difficulties faced by Central American emigrants who make the perilous trek northward to escape life-threatening situations in their own countries.  Copies of her book are being provided free of charge to interested students at BHSD. Additional copies may be available for pickup at the library the week of her visit. The audiobook is also available for checkout for free from the Hoopla app or on https://www.hoopladigital.com/ with your Chetco Library card.  To register for this event, please use this link:
