Register here today for our event: Powering Potential – Our mission and latest projects in Tanzania

Dear <<First Name *>>,

As you know, Powering Potential has been a long-time supporter of enhancing education through technology by providing learners with the tools they need to succeed as 21st century global citizens. Our award-winning solar-powered computer programs deliver digital libraries, with no internet required, and training to teachers and students in remote villages that have no access to the national electrical grid. Our mission is to use technology to enhance education and stimulate imaginations for learners while respecting and incorporating values of the local culture.

We would like to personally invite you to attend our lunch and learn event, where representatives from Powering Potential and the Potential Enhancement Foundation (PEF), our partner in Tanzania, will present a brief program to include:

- Powering Potential: who we are and our mission
- Current and upcoming projects:
  • SoitSambu secondary school, Ngorongoro District (see description below)
  • Nanenane secondary school, Morogoro District (upcoming)
- Question and Answer session with the presenters

Overview of current project: SoitSambu secondary school, Ngorongoro District

Powering Potential has set its sights on installing an upgraded and expanded computer lab at the SoitSambu Secondary School. Our plan involves increasing the number of computers to 20, expanding the solar energy system, upgrading the computers and software, and installing the Tanzanian digitized secondary school curriculum.

SoitSambu is located in the Ngorongoro District, Arusha Region of northern Tanzania, home to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Arusha National Park among other natural wonders. The original lab was part of our 2014 project in the Ngorongoro District. The SoitSambu Secondary School has faced hardship. An accidental fire in 2015 destroyed one of the boys’ dormitories, rendering them homeless. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the year-long rebuild caused delays for other initiatives. This school now has more than 400 girls and boys and they continue to flourish with active enthusiasm for their education.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the event! Please feel free to extend this invite to anyone you think would be interested. Help us spread the word!

Presenters:

  • Janice Lathen – Founder
  • Sabasaba Moshingi – Treasurer, PEF
  • Eng. Albin Mathias – Executive Director, PEF
