Hello Everyone and welcome to July!

In this issue, we look back at Volunteers Week 2021 and share some of the highlights including lots of opportunities to say thank you! You can also find out more about our volunteer-led virtual Carer Cafe.

We reflect on another successful Carers Week which included a visit to Gateshead Carers by Liz Twist MP and the lighting up in Carers Week blue of the Millennium Bridge by Gateshead Carers, in recognition of all unpaid carers. We also celebrated the launch of the Writers Who Care Anthology!

We hear firsthand about the journey of Waseem and his brother to the UK from Syria and how Waseem got involved with Gateshead Carers and has become a valued member of our team of volunteers. Our interview with Gail takes us on a '3 Story Journey' whilst discovering her passion for crafting and we take a peek into the world of Craftivism! Also, Susie's World is back with some Me-Time - something we should all take note of.

As always, we love to hear from you so please get in touch to share your experiences, top tips, recipes, and ideas for issues and topics that you would like us to include in our next issue by emailing me at:
nikki.mccann@gatesheadcarers.com

We look forward to hearing from you, joining you on Zoom and speaking to you soon. Wishing you much joy and serenity.
