Kelvin Green is a rising sophomore at Princeton University, majoring in Environmental Engineering. At WestCOG, Kelvin is assisting with the design of a regional well water testing program to help residents test and remediate their well water of contaminants easily and cost effectively. In his free time, Kelvin enjoys reading fantasy novels and tinkering with simple machines.

Water Testing Program Kicks Off

WestCOG is in the process of designing a regional well water testing program for private well owners in Western Connecticut. Recent USGS studies have highlighted widespread uranium and arsenic contamination in private wells, prompting concerns that homeowners with untested wells may have contaminated drinking water. The goal of this program is to protect public health by ensuring all residents have easy and affordable access to well water testing services and remediation techniques. For questions about the program, please contact Kelvin Green.

Sustainable CT Summer Session

Back for its 4th round, the Sustainable CT Summer Session returns. It is a great time for municipalities to utilize dedicated staff hosted at WestCOG (Valentina and Liam) to join the program, recertify, or go after their next sustainability goals. The Sustainable CT Fellows are available to help with any step of the process (including just a general discussion to learn about the program). Feel free to contact either Liam or Valentina to learn more. Or see the Sustainable CT Website for more details.
