We are continuing our Summer Career Series with insightful conversations from Industry Partners and MEng alumni who will share their career journeys and professional advice. These events are also good opportunities to meet your cohort and build your graduate network.

Industry and Hiring Trends Panel
This panel discussion will give you a unique perspective on industry and hiring trends directly from recruiters! Our guests will discuss how to leverage your skills/experiences in the job search, what you can expect from today's job market, and recruiting best practices. It is also an opportunity for you to directly ask recruiters any questions you have about the process and their organizations! You can even submit your questions ahead of time if you can't ask them live.

Yuliya Mykhaylovska (Head of University Talent at Greylock)
Yuliya has helped hundreds of people navigate careers in different industries. Her work in Greylock allows her to connect students and companies find the right talent for the right opportunities. Her in depth knowledge about the startup world would be valuable for those interested in learning more about them.

Fion Hu (Scientific Recruiter at R&D Partners)
Fion is a seasoned recruiter who is passionate about helping people find their best match in goals, interests and experiences. She is a great resource for students interested in Life Sciences Industry (Biotech/Pharmaceutical companies).

The MEng Career Development Summer Series provides resources along with networking and career exploration opportunities. Join us to enhance your professional skills and start building your MEng network before the Fall semester begins. Registration is currently open for the following events:

3. Alumni Chat with Joel Varghese (IEOR '16): Careers in Data Science
   Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 5:30pm to 6:30pm PDT- Registration open!
Starting out careers in data science can be challenging. Join Joel, MEng Alum IEOR '16, as he shares his career journey from graduate student to working as a Data Scientist at companies such as AXA, eHealth and Asana!

4. Alumni Chat with Jessica Chow (NE' 20): MEng and Careers
    Thursday, July 8, 2021 6:00pm to 7:00pm PDT- Registration open!
Let's chat with Jessica Chow, an NE Alum 2020 and learn about her MEng Experience and Career Journey from being a double bear, graduating with an NE degree and now working at a renewable and environment startup: Deep Isolation.

5. Alumni Chat with Paul Ceralde (MSE'19): Career Journey from a Material Scientist to
Co-Founder of Morph MicroFactories

Resource Highlight: MEng Student Portal

Bookmarking the MEng Student Portal is essential in helping you get all the information and resources accessible at your fingertips. Particularly for career resources, you will be able to find informative links, platforms, and websites that are beneficial to pursuing your career goals.

Access the career team's appointment calendar to see 1:1 availability and view the Fung Student Services calendar for career event reminders. Take a peak at different skill building resrouces and community building platforms. And don't forget to check out the career roadmap to help you plan your career journey while in the program.

To best address any questions you have in preparing for your next steps at Berkeley and your career, please utilize our Flash Career Coaching Appointments or Drop-in Sessions. To make the most of our 15 minutes, please indicate the purpose of your appointment in the calendar invite. All 1:1s will be thru zoom. Some topics you may want to chat about include:

4. Anything Career-related!
