Has Our Experience of Recovery Changed During This Pandemic?
As June 15 approaches we are all probably thinking about what life will be like with the lifting or modification of almost all the restrictions that we have lived with for the past 15 months.  Many familiar ways of life will return but each of us will approach this new era with our own do’s and do not’s.  It will likely take some time to adjust to it.

For many of us, it might be that we need to ask ourselves “has our experience of recovery changed during this pandemic and, if so, how?”  We may find that we need to return to the tools that were essential to us before all this began as they become available or that we may need to seek new tools that help us move forward in maintaining our recovery.

There have been plenty of resources available this past year, particularly through online resources.  But these have not been for everyone as some of us do not find the format workable.  Whatever our preferences may be, as things open up soon let’s stay in touch with our recovery network and reconnect with what works for us.

For now, the Mills Recovery Alliance continues to hold discussions via Zoom each Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm.  It is an open meeting and all are welcome. The login information is included below.

Relapsing Left and Right: Trying to Overcome Addiction in a Pandemic

Addiction is often referred to as a disease of isolation, and overcoming that challenge has only become more difficult during a pandemic that has forced people indoors — in some cases to live lonely lives, with drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the stress.
