Protect your pipes from the winter chill!

There’s nothing better than a hot shower on a cold winter’s morning but if your water meter is uncovered you could be in for a chilly shock!

Each year we respond to numerous calls of unprotected meters bursting due to the pressure of water freezing inside when the temperature drops below zero.

Older style water meters exposed to the elements are the most susceptible to damage.

Covering your water meter can help ensure you wake up to a warm shower.

Purpose-built water meter boxes can be purchased from most plumbing or irrigation stores; otherwise a bucket, plastic tub or old tyre will also do the trick.

 Throsby Street road closure

As of yesterday, we’ve temporarily closed a section of Throsby Street in Moss Vale.

The closure between Spring and Spencer Streets is to enable road works to safely continue into the final phase.

It is expected that the closure will be in place until Friday 25 June.

During the temporary closure limited vehicular access will be provided for residents, school buses, emergency vehicles and waste collection trucks.

Please take extra care when travelling through the work zones and be aware of traffic controllers who will be stationed onsite to help manage traffic.

We apologise for any delays or inconvenience caused.

Plastic Free July - Take the Challenge

 Go plastic free this July

Plastic Free July is a global movement that encourages millions of people to be part of the solution to plastic pollution.

Most plastics are made to be used once before being thrown away. By taking the challenge to refuse single-use plastics you'll be reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

Anyone can take part, and we’ve organised a range of online and in-person events to support you on your plastic free journey.

From making your own eco-cleaning products to hosting a plastic free celebration – there’s something for everyone!
