It is gloriously warm here in North London and we know that many of you are putting your bigger crochet blanket projects to one side in favour of making smaller items, so we have been putting together a couple of new kits that use cotton yarns, which we think are just perfect for this time of year...
We have kits for The Blue House - Aladdin Cushion which is a project created by Marina Kelly based on Jane's original Blue House motif. The kits contain 17 balls of Anchor Creativa Fino 4 ply and the paper pattern with the option of adding beads. You will need to download Marina's pattern substitution document to use alongside the original crochet pattern. The kit is priced at £33.95 without the beads and from £37.95 if you add beads. We have also put together a few yarn packs for the Anchor Creativa Fino 4ply Glorious Granny Blanket, which uses 36 balls of Anchor Creativa Fino 4ply and is priced at £69.50. You will need to purchase the pattern separately from Anchor.

Anchor Creativa Fino 4 ply has become our most popular yarn over the last year, so we have put together the yarn pack for the Glorious Granny Blanket. The blanket is based on the granny hexagon motif and the pattern is fully charted and would be a good project for beginner through to advanced crocheters. Anchor Creativa 4 ply is 100% cotton so is great to use on these warmer summer days.

The pattern for the blanket needs to be purchased separately from the Anchor web site which is a great resource for both paid for patterns and free patterns so is well worth a look. It is worth noting that the Glorious Granny pattern is priced at £3.50 on the site, but the Welcome Home Collection (which the blanket pattern is part of) contains 13 patterns and is also priced at £3.50, so make sure you purchase the collection instead of the pattern as this works out far more cost affective!

Marina Kelly has made an amazing job of reworking Jane's Blue House design when creating her vibrant 'Aladdin' cushion cover.
Marina used Jane's Blue House original pattern to create her design and you can find a free guidance document where Marina explains how she made her cushion by following this link to the Janie Crow web site.
The kit for the cushion cover contains 17 balls of Anchor Creativa Fino 4ply (100% cotton) as well as the paper pattern and you have the option of adding a pack of beads if you wish. Marina has used 4 shades of beads on her cushion, but if you want to use just one shade then a single pack will be enough. We have left the beads as an optional extra in case you would like to use some from your stash or make it without the beads.
Marina is a designer in her own right and has created some wonderful intricate pre-made crochet necklaces which you can find on the Janie Crow web site.
