COVID-19 Update

Important COVID-19 update - Sunshine Coast

There have been two new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Sunshine Coast after a Melbourne woman and her husband tested positive after entering the destination.

Contact tracing and testing is underway with a contact tracing alert issued for parts of the Sunshine Coast (including locations in Caloundra and Kawana), Goondiwindi and Toowoomba in relation to these cases.

See the current list of exposure venues in Queensland and related health advice for anyone who has been to any of those locations at the relevant date and time.

The State Government advice is that anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested as soon as possible.

Victoria hotspot update - 1am Friday 11 June

Queensland Health has announced it is removing regional Victoria as a hotspot from 1am Friday 11 June, however, Greater Melbourne remains a hotspot.

This means anyone arriving from outside of Greater Melbourne from 1am Friday 11 June will be able to enter Queensland without quarantining.

Anyone who has been in Greater Melbourne in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter Queensland, except for a limited range of people who can enter for essential purposes.

What do tourism businesses need to do?

While tourism businesses are required to make their guests aware of public health requirements, they do not need to enforce compliance.

If you have concerns about the health of a guest you can contact Queensland Health, or if you have concerns that someone is not following Public Health Directions you can contact the Queensland Police.
