Daniela is saying farewell...
After more than 20 years in the Hobsons Bay Youth Services team, Daniela Beardsley is saying farewell…
Daniela began her career as a year 10 student at HBCC, studied education while working as a casual in the youth services team and then worked in a permanent role delivering recreation programs, camps and events. She stepped away to pursue other interests at different times, but always stayed connected to the team, taking casual shifts when she could. She came back to the team as a youth development officer, which eventually became her most recent role of wellbeing support and development officer. A lover of lifelong learning, Daniela worked towards two masters degrees during this time!
Over the years, Daniela has championed and supported many young people, including the LGBTQIA+ community, young people with disabilities, marginalised and disadvantaged young people. Daniela is known for her sense of humour, youthfulness and love of health and fitness, and you will have seen her delivering support programs, mental health training, manning a BBQ, at Midsumma, or perhaps running a fitness class!
There is no doubt that Daniela has made an immeasurable contribution to young people and the broader community over the 20 years, and her leaving is a great loss to the organisation. She remains a valued member of the Hobsons Bay community, and will no doubt prove to be an asset in her move into the field of healthcare. We wish Daniela every happiness and success in her chosen endeavour, and we thank her for making such a positive difference.
