Honors nominations due!

Friday, June 11 is the last day to submit Honor's nomination for The Utah Headliners Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists 2021 contest. Do you know someone worthy of a lifetime achievement award? Want to nominate someone for the best investigative reporting in 2020? Perhaps there's a mentor or teacher you think worthy of the Clifford P. Cheney Service to Journalism Award? Journalists are encouraged to nominate their own work as well as that of others. Most categories focus on reporting from 2020.

To submit a nomination, e-mail a one-page letter to utahspj@gmail.com by end of day Friday, June 11. The Utah SPJ board will also be hosting a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, June 16 at 6:30 pm to discuss the nominations. If you would like to speak before the board about your nomination please indicate so in your email submission. Those addressing the board will have five minutes to speak and will also have opportunities to answer questions from the board.

Honor's nominations will be presented at our awards banquet, this year to be held on August 5. More details on the banquet to come soon.
