Reopening Update
The goal for next phase of the reopening plan at Milwood are for Kalamazoo County numbers to be under a 7% positivity rate and fewer than 70 cases per million people. Current Kalamazoo County numbers are 2.8% positivity rate and 30 daily cases per million people.
Worship Is Coming Back Inside!
Starting July 4,Milwood UMC is returning to indoor worship! Test positivity rates are finally below 5% in Kalamazoo county, and a majority of folks are vaccinated, so we’re headed indoors.
Your reopening team is working hard to make sure we reopen safely and smoothly. When we do gather again, we’ll have some simple precautions:
Masks: anyone older than 2 who hasn’t been vaccinated (if you can do so safely), or anyone who just prefers to wear one.
Seating: We’re at 50% capacity, so every other row will be blocked off.
Tracing: everyone will sign in on your way into the sanctuary.
Food: will be served outdoors, where everyone can unmask safely.
If you’re feeling sick, please stay home.
Plenty of other things will be back to normal. Bibles and hymnals will be back in the rows. Ushers will still be around to help with any concerns. And, our beloved choir will be back in the fall as usual. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Parish Nurse, Tracey Hatch, at traceyhatch@sbcglobal.net.
