This week we’re all about planting, plonking and planning. We celebrate new growth at Lake Ohau Village, where two very successful planting days were had; we're growing a new website; we’ve plonked tetrapods at the edge of the breakwater to cease the seas relentless nibbling and we’re planning an entertainment guide with activities aplenty for the upcoming school holidays. Ohau Village planting

There were two very successful planting sessions at Ohau last weekend, with volunteers battling gale force NW winds on Saturday that arrived just as they did! The wind was really strong - white caps on the lake... despite this they got all the tussocks in. On Sunday, they planted 60 beech trees along the bottom of McKinnon reserve and then 40 beech trees and 50 coprosma planted in Aubrey reserve across the road. Running kids activities this school holidays?

Change of Council meeting times
The times of meetings to be held next Tuesday 15 June have changed from what has previously been published.
  • The Assets Committee Meeting will be held from 10.45am until approximately 11.15am.
  • As soon as that meeting concludes, the Community, Culture and Regulatory (CCR) Committee Meeting will follow – from approximately 11.15am until around 12.30pm.
  • The Additional Council Meeting will now be held at the earlier time of 1.30pm through to 3.15pm.
  • The Harbour Area Committee Meeting and the Performance, Audit and Risk Committee Meetings originally scheduled for the same day have now been cancelled.
