Tony's Weekend Weather
A high over New Zealand will be slowly squeezed out over the weekend as a low and it’s accompanying cold front push onto the country. Initially on Saturday there’ll be good weather (apart from the usual anticyclonic low cloud and inland fogs) under the high, but by the end of the day rain will be spreading onto Fiordland. Rain will spread over the remainder of the West Coast Sunday morning and reach Taranaki and Cook Strait by evening. Although the front itself won't affect the North Island significantly on Sunday, the northeasterlies ahead of it are likely to bring cloud and showers from Northland to East Cape.
After some morning cloud and possible drizzle, Saturday should turn into a good day in Kāpiti with northerlies around 10kts. Sunday will be cloudier, with stronger northerlies, but should remain mostly dry until about ECT.
