Shall we continue to wear masks for now?
We returned to in-person inside Gatherings on Sunday, April 11 and are grateful for the opportunities to come together again. While we miss seeing smiles and appreciate that being masked adds challenges, for the time being we will continue to do so and refrain from group singing inside. Council reviewed CDC guidelines, Mesa County's data, and input from Koinonia physicians (David Herr and Sherri Helms). Current numbers in Mesa County (cases, hospitalizations, ICU/ventilator use, deaths) are worrisome. There are reports of fully vaccinated people contracting COVID. Our immunization rate in Mesa County is currently only 37%. During Sunday Gatherings it is likely that not everyone will be vaccinated and someone's health may make them more vulnerable. We ask that you help us responsibly create a welcoming space for all, focus on collective well-being, and continue to wear a mask when we gather inside. When we gather in smaller groups for meetings and know everyone is vaccinated, the group may opt to not wear masks. We will review the data, input, and these practices monthly.
Financial Health
We want to continue to support Koinonia's dedicated staff and care for the facility, so as always, your financial contributions are greatly appreciated. Our income through April was about $4,000 less than expected, but because expenses have been lower, our current deficit is about $485.

May gratitude, curiosity, and compassion guide our journey forward.
